“Having had a spiriitual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to other alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.”

Step Twelve in Alcoholics Anonymous is all about continuing to work and help others who are going through the same struggles. This step is about spreading the message of hope and recovery to other alcoholics to help them understand that sobriety is possible. It is also about continuing to grow in your own sobriety, focusing on your own spiritual growth and developing healthy relationships. Step twelve encourages members to give back to the program and to become a part of the larger Alcoholics Anonymous community. This step is an important part of the recovery process and helps ensure that all members of Alcoholics Anonymous can continue to recover and stay sober.
